Redoubled attacks on Iranian targets

“Since I took office, the number of Israeli attacks against the Iranians in Syria has doubled,” says Gallant.

The defense minister further says that the attacks are partly directed at the Iranian intelligence service, and that they significantly “make it more difficult for Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps in its attempts to gain a foothold a few kilometers from the border with Israel”.

Yoav Gallant made the statement in the context of a defense conference, where he did not give an exact figure for the number of Israeli airstrikes against Iranian targets in Syria. Similar Israeli statements about attacks on targets in Syria are rare.

Israel regards Iran as its greatest enemy, and has repeatedly accused the country of pursuing nuclear weapons.
