Red is just the beginning of a crime universe with 3 possible sequels

A Polish crime thriller currently dominates the first place in German Netflix’s top 10 list of most-streamed films: Colors of Evil: RedAs the title of the dark story already suggests, there are even more “evil colors” that the streaming service could explore. We present you the other novels that the book is based on.

On Netflix’s Colors of Evil: Red can still be followed by Black, White and Yellow

What worked for Krzysztof Kieslowski’s French three-colour trilogy (red, white and blue) could also work for Adrian Panek’s Netflix thriller. Poland may only have two colours in its red and white flag, but the colours of evilNovel series by Malgorzata Oliwia Sobczak takes a different tonal path anyway. Originally conceived as a trilogy, there are now 4 books, all of which Public Prosecutor Leopold Bilski as investigator have in common:

1. Colors of Evil: Red is on Netflix

As in the novel Czerwień (Red), for which no German or English translation exists, Netflix’s first part of the crime series two women murders: The ambitious prosecutor Bilski (Jakub Gierszal) is asked to investigate the case of a young corpse on the beach. During his research he discovers similarities to another case that happened 15 years ago. Together with the victim’s mother, Judge Helena Bogucka (Maja Ostaszewska), he plunges into a dangerous investigation that takes them into the underworld of nightclubs by the sea.

2. Colors of Evil: Black

The sequel, Colours of Evil: Black (original title: Czerń), currently only exists as a book, but could become the next Netflix sequel in the series: Bilski is demoted and sent to Kartuzy. At the same time, Ania Górska becomes an independent prosecutor and is assigned her first case: the Disappearance of a 13-year-old girl. The trail leads them to the same place as Bilski and the idyllic little town slowly reveals its macabre secret to them.

3. Colors of Evil: White

In the novel Colors of Evil: White (in Polish: Kolory zła – Biel) a law student jumps out of the window a rental house in the Baltic Sea town of Sopot. Her body also shows signs of being tied up and strangled. His search for answers takes Bilski first to the city’s nightclubs and then far back into the past.

4. Colors of Evil: Yellow

The fourth crime novel, Żółć (Yellow), begins with a Man with slit veinswhich is found in his rented apartment. After the forensic investigation, however, it is clear: It was not suicide. Bilski finds out that the dead man apparently ran a “seduction school” and tortured women. Then a sculptor, an Instagram trainer, drugs and a car gang come into play. But how is everything connected?

If the popularity of the film Colors of Evil: Red continues on Netflix, it is probably only a matter of time before the streamer orders (at least) one sequel, which will bring even more color to the crime series on screens. further streaming adaptations of Sobczak’s novels but not yet.
