In the United States, stock markets broke records after the country’s central bank Fed’s interest rate decision.

The broad-based S&P 500 rose to a record high of around 5,970 points and was up 0.7 percent at the end of the trading day.

The technology-focused Nasdaq also reached a record with around 19,270 points and ended the day up 1.5 percent.

The industrial index Dow Jones had frozen in place.

On Thursday evening Finnish time, the Fed reduced its key interest rates by a quarter of a percentage point.
