Two tons of ketamine have been seized by Dutch police following a tip-off. The seizure is the country’s largest so far of the drug.

The ketamine was stored in boxes in a shed in Muiderberg east of Amsterdam. A 55-year-old man who lived there with two children has been arrested.

The Netherlands and neighboring Belgium have become major entry countries for drugs in Europe, especially through the ports of Rotterdam and Antwerp.

Ketamine itself is not illegal under Dutch law but it may not be traded or stored without being registered.
