A total of 188 lynxes were shot during this year’s lynx hunt. A hunt that was the largest since 2010. Most lynx were killed in Gävleborg, Östergötland and Kalmar.
A total of 201 lynx were killed during this year’s hunt, according to decisions from the county administrations. This can be compared to 125 animals being killed during the hunt in 2022 and 65 animals in 2021.
Since 1995, license hunting of lynx has been carried out to regulate the populations that can cause damage to domestic animals and reindeer.
