Reclaimed Dragunov rifle added to Battlegrounds

Game developer Krafton and PUBG Corporation have withdrawn the Dragunov rifle, which was added with the latest update in the popular battle royale game PUBG: Battlegrounds, due to a controversial feature.

Krafton and PUBG Corporation, which met with the players on August 2, brought many innovations such as various map changes and gameplay modes.

Dragunov rifle added to PUBG: Battlegrounds has been withdrawn

A new weapon, the Dragunov rifle, has also been added to PUBG: Battlegrounds. This powerful weapon is one that uses 7.62mm rounds and is as powerful as a sniper rifle, but calculates damage with the dice roll system. However, fans have expressed concern, stating that the kills are based on luck and not skill, due to this random number system.

Krafton posted a statement to the official PUBG: Battlegrounds website after considering players’ concerns about the rifle. As a temporary measure, the team pulled the rifle from the live PUBG servers. Trying to keep the aging battle royale game in mind, the developers also asked players to fill out a feedback form to help optimize the rifle in the best way possible.

Additionally, the latest update of PUBG: Battlegrounds offers players a revamped map and several gameplay changes, such as a sandstorm replacing the Red Zone on the Miramar map. This new gameplay element introduces new challenges such as reduced view range and ever-decreasing health.

The new update of the game draws a lot of attention

PUBG: Battlegrounds’ update 25.1 also features the latest collaboration with automaker Aston Martin. This feature brings players the opportunity to tour the refurbished map in a luxury super vehicle. This collaboration is the latest in a series of successful collaborations following Capcom’s recent bringing Street Fighter 6 skins to PUBG: Battlegrounds.

Of course, it’s a positive step that developers value feedback from the community. Although PUBG still has a large player base, Krafton is also funding the development of a rival game to Escape From Tarkov. This project, currently known as BlackBudget, will be a PvPvE action game set in a vast open world.
