This recipe for meatballs and mashed potatoes is easy to make and makes a tasty and filling meal for four people. The meatballs are soft and juicy with a light taste of onion and thyme, while the mashed potatoes are creamy and tasty with a light taste of nutmeg.

Ingredients:

Noisette:

  • 500 g mixed minced meat
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 1 dl breadcrumbs
  • 1 DL of milk
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp thyme
  • salt and pepper
  • butter for frying

    Mashed potatoes:

  • 8 potatoes
  • 2 dl milk
  • 50 g of butter
  • 1 crm of nutmeg
  • salt and pepper
  • Instructions:

    Noisette:

  • Mix breadcrumbs and milk in a bowl and leave to swell for a few minutes.
  • Add onion, thyme, salt, pepper and egg to the bowl and mix well.
  • Add the minced meat and mix gently until everything is well mixed.
  • Shape the mince into small meatballs.
  • Melt the butter in a frying pan over medium heat.
  • Fry the meatballs in the butter until they are golden brown and cooked through, about 10-15 minutes.

    Mashed potatoes:

  • Peel the potatoes and cut them into small pieces.
  • Cook the potatoes until soft, about 20 minutes.
  • Drain the water and add milk and butter.
  • Mash the potatoes with a potato masher or an electric whisk until smooth and creamy.
  • Add nutmeg, salt and pepper and stir.
  • Serve the meatballs with mashed potatoes and lingonberry jam. Have a nice meal!
