A defect in the pipettes of Doliprane 2.4%, oral suspension
The defect only concerns the pipette. The integrity and quality of the syrup contained in the bottle are intact. The Agency therefore invites parents to check their boxes of Doliprane 2.4%, oral suspension. “Check that the pipette is correctly graduated. If this is not the case, return the box to a pharmacy, it will be exchanged for you. Do not use the ungraduated pipette or the pipette of another medication, so as not to risk a dosage error” specifies the ANSM.
Which batches are affected?
These pipettes are contained in lots 3KLR12D1, 3KLR13D2, 3KLQ70DU, 3KLQ69DT, 3KLR14D3, 3KLQ71DV, 3KLQ72DW boxes of Doliprane 2.4%, oral suspension.
These batches total more than 1.3 million boxes. If you buy a box of Doliprane 2.4%, oral suspension, from one of these batches, the pharmacist will check the condition of the pipette in front of you at the time of delivery. Patients can exchange their box at the pharmacy if they notice that the graduation is missing. No pharmacovigilance cases related to this printing defect have been reported to date. The pipette manufacturer claims to have taken measures to ensure that new batches do not contain this defect.
What should I do if I have one of these defective batches?
The ANSM specifies that “If you have a box of Doliprane 2.4%, oral solution, check that the pipette is properly graduated. If the graduation of the pipette is present you can use it. On the other hand, if the graduation of the pipette is missing, in order to avoid any risk of dosing error:
- Do not use this pipette;
- Also do not use the pipette of another medicine;
- Return your box to the pharmacy, it will be exchanged for you.
