Recall of Manix condoms that can crack

Recall of Manix condoms that can crack

Condoms are withdrawn from the market in January because they present a risk of cracking, warns the government site Rappel Conso.

Since January 6, 2023, batches of male condoms are withdrawn from the market because the cans have an expiry date of five years on their label, whereas condoms are only good for three years inform the official website Drink reminder. The main risk of using the product beyond the expiry date (3 years) is condom breakage during sexual intercourse that can lead to unwanted pregnancy or a sexually transmitted infection (STI). The batches concerned are:

  • “Manix Contact Aloe” boxes of 14 condoms
  • “Manix Total Bliss” boxes of 12 condoms

“A study showed that the product did not withstand the test during the 4th year of study, which therefore makes us reduce the shelf life from 5 to 3 years. Current labeling indicates a shelf life of 5 years, which according to new data obtained should be 3 years” indicates the National Agency for the Safety of Medicines and Health Products (ANSM). These products were sold in pharmacies or online on Amazon (listing of points of sale) between April 1, 2020 and May 31, 2022. They should not be used after April 2023. Beyond this date, customers are asked to stop using the product, return it to the point of sale or destroy it, and contact consumer service to obtain a refund or an exchange. The recall will end on Sunday, April 30, 2023.
