In Mali, negotiations are underway between the rebels of the FLA and the jihadists of the JNIM. Information revealed Monday March 3 by our colleague Wassim Nasr of France 24. The FLA, the Liberation Front of Azawad, it was the independence rebels of northern Mali, who had signed in 2015 a peace agreement with the Malian State and who took up arms after the breach of this agreement by the current transition authorities, a year ago. The JNIM, a support group for Islam and Muslims, brings together the active jihadist groups in the Sahel and linked to Al-Qaeda. The borders have always been porous between all these groups, which had already concluded a non-aggression pact. It is now a question of going further and carrying out joint military operations in northern Mali in particular. Basic differences limit the scope of the discussions that continue.
