Two boys from Manchester were only in junior high school when their maths teacher had sex with them.
Teacher Rebecca Joynes, 30, from Manchester, was sentenced on Friday after one of the boys fathered her child.

Teacher Rebecca Joynes, 30, had been suspended from her job at a secondary school and released on bail after having sex with a 15-year-old pupil. The boy has come to be called Boy A in the British media.
While the police were investigating the events connected to boy A, Joynes had contact with another teenager. The other boy, who came to be known as Boy B, became the father of her child. Last Friday, she was sentenced for having sex with the teenagers.
– Joynes decided to take advantage of his position and use it to groom the two teenagers, says investigator Beth Alexander from Manchester police in a statement.
Bought Gucci belt for the boy
According to the verdict, Joynes also took advantage of his position of trust. In one case, she allegedly took boy A to a shopping center where she bought a Gucci belt worth several thousand kroner. Then they went home to her apartment where she had sex with him. According to The independent the boy’s sperm was found on her sheets.
After being suspended from work following the events with Boy A, Joynes describes how she was in a bad place in her life, when she started talking to Boy B on Snapchat.
Was “almost impossible” to get pregnant
Flirty messages were secretly sent and boy B lied to his parents, saying among other things he was going to watch football – instead he met his teacher. The boy states that the relationship between them became increasingly complicated as Joynes was jealous and controlling.
In an attempt to make things right, she invited him over for a date. Joynes had previously stated to the boy that it was “almost impossible” for her to get pregnant due to her health. Now she revealed the news that she was expecting their child, something the boy described as “a big shock”.
Shortly after, she was arrested by the police. Once the baby was born, it was taken from her 24 hours after birth.
The sentence will be announced in July
Joynes herself claimed that she only had sex with boy B after she had to leave her job and after he turned 16. Boy A, she said she never had sex with, and denied the accusations.
Joynes was arrested in October 2021 and the verdict was announced on Friday. She was found guilty of several counts of sexual intercourse with a minor. M
