Today realmein China GT Neo 5 introduced its series and one of the versions comes with an incredible 240W charging speed (The other has 150W fast charging support). This is the fastest in the world so far and Realme has confirmed that it will be coming to the global market this month.
However, the phone that will bring the new technology out of China, instead of the Neo 5 Realme GT3 will be named. It’s possible that the company simply rebranded the phone, but so far nothing like that has happened between the Neo and the main GT. series, so overseas markets may be getting a different device.
To allow 240W charging, the company designed a custom 12A charging cable and a 240W dual GaN mini charger. The GaN part is pretty important because a standard 240W charger would be pretty big.
The GT Neo 5 comes with a 4,600mAh battery and at least that battery Realme GT3 is likely to be shared with Realme says it has applied more than 60 layers of protection, making it the first battery to support over 200W charging certified by TUV Rheinland for longevity. Theoretically, it should retain 80% of its capacity after 1,600 charge cycles, which is pretty impressive.
Today is officially the day of phones with 240 Watt fast charging support. First Realme GT Neo 5 and then Realme V30 and Realme V30t. Now, again, Realme’s GT3 model and most importantly, these phones are now available for sale in countries outside of China.
