realme today with 240W fast charging GT Neo 5, making it the fastest charging smartphone on the market. The GT Neo 5 also has a variant with 150W charging and a slightly larger battery, and both versions come in a unique design with a shiny rectangle on the back.
Realme GT Neo 5 is powered by Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset. The 240W version has 16GB of RAM and 256GB or 1TB of storage. The GT Neo 5 150W can be purchased with 8GB, 12GB or 16GB of RAM, while the storage capacity is also 256GB in this model.
The phone is designed around a 6.74” 10-bit AMOLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate. The resolution is 2772 x 1240 pixels and offers 100% DCI-P3 coverage and a 1,500Hz touch sampling rate.
Realme GT Neo 5 240W comes with 4,600mAh internal battery and 20V/12A adapter in retail box. 150W version includes 5,000mAh built-in battery and 20V/8A adapter in retail package.
The 240W adapter can charge the GT Neo 5 up to 20% in 80 seconds, 50% in 4 minutes, and 100% in under 10 minutes. The company says that just 30 seconds on the cable can provide up to 2 hours of talk time. Great numbers, right?
The phone will also work with legacy VOOC and SuperVOOC chargers, which will be able to supply the smartphone with its maximum power via the USB-C port.
The main camera on the back has a 50MP 1/1.56” Sony IMX890 sensor, OIS and a 6P lens with f/1.9 aperture. In addition, an 8 MP ultra-wide-angle camera with 112-degree Viewing Angle and a 2 MP macro camera accompany the main camera.
The selfie camera on the front has a 16MP Samsung sensor and is housed in a hole centered at the top of the screen.
Realme GT Neo 5 has an 8-component cooling solution, including a vapor chamber for heat dissipation and multiple layers of graphite. Fast charging can cause the phone to get quite hot, but Realme has a solution for this issue as well. It received a TUV Rheinland certification to verify its safety.
Charging tests conducted at Realme Lab revealed that the phone does not heat up more than 10 degrees and can withstand 1,600 charges from 0% to 100% while maintaining 80% of its capacity. These results mean you can use this phone for more than four years without any problems.
Let’s continue with its technical specifications.. Realme GT Neo 5 has NFC feature and presents Android 13 with Realme UI 4.0 interface.
Realme has placed an RGB LED rectangle on the back that can act as a notification light and is fully customizable for different applications. It will also glow red when the battery drops below 20%; this is a notification that can also be programmed from the Settings menu.
The phone is available in three colors – White, Black, and Purple, and each has at least one variant with both charging options. Prices for the 240W version are CNY 3,199 ($470) for the 16GB/256GB version and CNY3,499 ($515) for the 16GB/1TB version.
The Realme GT Neo 5 150W costs CNY 2,499 ($368) for the 8/256GB base model, CNY 2,699 ($400) for the 12/256GB medium option, or CNY 2,899 ($427) for the 16/256GB top model.
We do not know which model will have any country restrictions, but generally the 240Watt version is only sold in China. Hopefully this year they will follow a different method.
