Realme GT Neo 3, the fastest charging smartphone in the world

Realme GT Neo 3 the fastest charging smartphone in the

Normally, yet another smartphone launched only in China is of little interest to us. But in this case things are different. On the one hand, Realme announces that its GT 3 Neo will arrive in our latitudes. On the other hand, it is above all, at present, the smartphone that charges the fastest in the world. And no little… Supplied with a 150 W UltraDart charger (yes, you read that right), this mid-range terminal goes from an empty battery to 50% capacity in just… five minutes.

Realme – a brand of Oppo, which develops the technologies – assures that the device has “38 protective measures” and he received “TÜV Rheinland certification, which guarantees safe charging”. Still, we have many questions about the technology, its safety, and its longevity.

As well as on other elements of its technical sheet. Equipped with a 6.7-inch FHD+ 120Hz AMOLED screen whose screen ratio is again record (94.2% of the front is occupied by the screen), the terminal would have a chip dedicated to controlling this screen in order to guarantee a greater fluidity of the image (the chip would compensate for the images that the SoC could not calculate to guarantee a constant fluidity?).

What is it really about? We asked the question to Realme France which does not yet have the answers, but the GT Neo 3 already has our full attention. This is all the more so since it incorporates a MediaTek Dimensity 8100 SoC, a 5G chip engraved in 5 nm which would overshadow certain Qualcomm processors.

Delivered with Color OS (home version of Android – in version 12 – at Oppo/OnePlus China/Realme), the terminal also receives a main camera module equipped with the 50 Mpix IMX766 sensor that Sony and Oppo have co-developed – which illustrates very well the technological runoff from Oppo.
To this main 24mm f/1.9 module is added an ultra-wide-angle 14mm f/2.3, equipped with an 8 Mpix sensor, and the useless macro sensor that was already found in the X3 SuperZoom.

The specs of the device are very good, with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protective glass, 4K at 30p/60p, 4,500 mAh battery, fingerprint reader placed under the screen, etc. All for a (Chinese) price of 290 euros.

Will the promises of this record load be kept? Is security up to date? Did Realme benefit from all of Oppo’s know-how to master its super image sensor? What is the MediaTek Dimensity 8100 worth? Rare are the terminals under 300 euros to raise so many questions.
Our first elements of answers will arrive in a few months, even a few weeks, when Realme France will have sent us a copy of the device.
