Bruce Willis fans from the very beginning should take some time and turn on the television tonight. There’s 16 Blocks on TV – a film that is extremely entertaining and could be something for you, especially if you particularly liked the Die Hard films.
Today on TV: In 16 Blocks, Bruce Willis takes on the entire New York police force
Actually, the police officer Jack Mosley (Bruce Willis) is just supposed to be one Bring witnesses to his court date. The courthouse is just 16 blocks away. But things turn out to be much more complicated than expected. Because on the one hand this story takes place in the hellish traffic of New York and on the other hand some people don’t want the witness to reach his destination.
This is because the witness Eddie Bunker (Yasiin Bey, formerly: Mos Def) is supposed to make a statement that… corrupt machinations of many New York police officers could reveal. Accordingly, half the city is after him, assassination attempts are carried out on the man and a corrupt police officer even tries to convince Jack Mosley to put Eddie Bunker to the knife.
16 Bocks delivers perfect entertainment for all action and Bruce Willis fans
Bruce Willis does what he does best here: Playing an alcoholic, washed-up and extremely grumpy cop who is completely fed up. If he reluctantly brings himself to stand up for the good cause, the situation is perfect.
The basic recipe here differs somewhat from the first two Die Hard films, but is very similar to that of the third part Die Hard – especially now. Here, too, two men rush across the city and fight each other wild chases and more or less reduce everything to rubble and ashes.
Want more action and thrillers? Then we recommend the following film, which is currently number 1 in the streaming charts on Netflix in 69 countries. It’s a hard-hitting thriller in which a one-man army dismantles half of Paris in 4 hours.
