Two rivals on the edge are creating excitement on television tonight. Anthony Hopkins and Alec Baldwin get caught up in a complicated love triangle in On the Razor’s Edge – Rivals on the Edge and that’s not even that fearsome bear that makes their lives hell in the wild.

Rich entrepreneur Charles Morse (Anthony Hopkins) and his much younger wife Mickey (Elle MacPherson) travel to Alaska for a photo shoot with fashion photographer Robert Green (Alec Baldwin). However, a personal rivalry develops between Robert and Charles due to Robert’s interest in Mickey.

When the two men are stranded in the icy Alaskan wilderness after a plane accident, they not only fight for survival, but also with jealousy and hatred for each other. To return to civilization, Charles and Robert must overcome their personal differences. But a huge bear gets in their way.
The real star of Razor’s Edge is a bear
Said furry giant is played by one of the animal stars of the 1990s. Beard the Bear was born in 1977 and played the lead role in Jean-Jacques Annaud’s The Bear. He was part of the cast of Legends of Passion alongside Hopkins and Brad Pitt and was around 2.90 meters tall (as you can read on the informative website BartTheBear.com). At 680 kilograms, Bart could have done a lot on set, but he was a pleasant work colleague for Anthony Hopkins, as can be read in Bart’s obituary from 2000.
The majestic beard is one of the features of On the Razor’s Edge, which spices up the fast-paced survival action with a basic psychological tension between the two main actors. The rock-solid adventure entertainment is rounded off by a score by master composer Jerry Goldsmith. As usual, Goldsmith shakes out some epic melodies (or at least it seems that way) that you rarely hear in modern Hollywood films. On the Knife’s Edge offers entertainment not only for 7 vs. Wild fans, but also for those viewers who have taken cinematic hearts to 90s adventures like On the Wild River or The Ghost and the Darkness.
