Real “Martha” in “Baby Reindeer”: Leave me alone

The woman described as the inspiration behind the character “Martha” in the Netflix hit “Baby reindeer” has given her first interview.
Fiona Harvey denies she is a stalker and says she is considering suing Netflix and series creator Richard Gadd.
– The series is a huge exaggeration, she says in the interview.

In the drama series “Baby reindeer”, actor Richard Gadd’s character Donny is stalked by a woman called Martha after he offers her a cup of tea at the pub where he works. Richard Gadds has also written the script and the series is based on his real experiences.

58-year-old Fiona Harvey has been singled out as the one who inspired the character Martha. Now she has given her first interview.

To the television profile Piers Morgan, she tells, among other things, about the threats she received after the series was released.

– On the internet, scouts have tracked me down, chased me and threatened me with death, she says, among other things, writes The Guardian.

“Don’t Be Friends”

In the TV series, it appears that “Martha” sends over 40,000 emails, hundreds of voice messages and over 100 letters to Donny. She pursues him and attacks his girlfriend.

Fiona Harvey denies that any of this happened and says in the interview that she only sent him a few emails, a letter and around 18 messages on X.

She says she knew Richard Gadd for a couple of months, but they weren’t friends.

– My message to him is: Leave me alone, she says in the interview.

Name and picture published

She says she is considering suing Netflix.

Rumors and speculation have spread in social media about Fiona Harvey, but several British media have chosen not to publish her name and picture, until now.

Richard Gadd has previously urged viewers to “stop spreading rumors and speculation about real people”.
