Nacho, who was the captain of Real Madrid, has signed a two-year contract with Al-Qadsiah, who plays in the Saudi Arabian league.
Nacho, 34, has played his entire career at his parent club Real Madrid, whose youth academy he joined back in 2001.
Toppari lute in the finished season as Real Madrid’s captain. In total, he played 364 matches for Real Madrid and celebrated no fewer than 26 trophies during that time. Among other things, Nacho is a six-time Champions League winner and a four-time La Liga champion.
Nacho, who is part of the Spanish European Championship team, told about his transfer at the press conference held on Thursday. He played full minutes in the opening game of the European Championship as Spain beat Croatia 3-0, but was sidelined for the games against Italy and Albania.
– This was the most difficult decision of my life, even though I already informed Real Madrid of my transfer intentions months ago. I didn’t want facing Real Madrid to be an option for me in the future, Nacho reasoned.
On Sunday, Spain will face Georgia, who surprised Portugal in the opening group on Wednesday, in the EC quarter-finals at 22:00.
