That is the department of Rijkswaterstaat that is responsible for signs above the highways. Erik and Rolf, independently of each other, received an answer from the communications staff of that service. “The reason why a lot of signage is in poor condition is because the Utrecht Ring Road would soon be overhauled. Would go, because there are all kinds of procedures that delay that,” the NBd writes to Rolf. “I expect things to improve between now and 5 years.”
