Reactions to Tesla after Elon Musk’s play – Sales are raging in Germany

Elon Musk’s prominent role in Donald Trump’s administration, combined with a series of controversial plays, has created reactions to Tesla on social media.

Some have posted pictures of Tesla cars that are adorned with a sticker with the text: “I bought this before Elon went crazy”.

Other posts show how a group in London created and set up a sarcastic poster adorned by Elon Musk with its right arm obliquely extended from the chest and the text: “Goes from 0 to 1939 in 3 seconds”.

In several cities in the United States, demonstrations were organized outside Tesla stores and factories to call for boycotts of the car brand.

“This government led by Trump and Musk has completely derailed and we are here to stop them,” says Carina Campobasso, who protested in Boston, to the AP.

Tesla sales are dropping

Sales also got off to start this year. In January, 9,945 Tesla cars were sold in Europe, which is almost a halving compared to last year.

The sinking figure has partly been highlighted in the light of Musk’s involvement in the German election, where he propagated for the external right AfD.

And in Germany, the downward trend seems to be even stronger. In February, sales fell by 76 percent compared to the same month last year.

In Sweden, too, sales decreased by 40 percent in the same time period, according to figures from the industry organization Mobility Sweden.

Similarly, there are examples of actions in Sweden. A Teslabilägare in Karlstad was met by a yellow note with the text “I run fascist” and occasional taxi drivers that SVT talked to testifies to how customers rated travel with them because they run Tesla.

Several Swedish companies previously tesla

In connection with IF Metall’s strike, where the union requires collective agreements for Tesla employees, several Swedish companies chose to noble the car. These include LKAB, Telia, Skanska and Taxi Stockholm.

On the other hand, it was only the latter that motivated the decision with a position linked to the question of collective agreements.

Taxine network Cabonline, which includes taxi courier and Sweden taxi, writes in an email to SVT that “follow the ongoing discussions about Tesla”.

In the video above: So taxi drivers and travelers think about the Teslabil – “They said it was Elon Musk’s car”.
