Capcom has announced that Resident Evil 4, its new game for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S and PC, has sold more than 3 million copies worldwide.
RE4 Remake sales figures make Capcom smile
The Resident Evil series features survival horror games in which players use various weapons and other items to escape from terrible situations. Cumulative shipments of games in the series exceed 135 million units since the first game was released in 1996. More than 27 years later, continued support from its passionate fan base around the world has made it Capcom’s flagship game franchise.
Resident Evil 4 is a remake of the original 2005 game. In addition to overhauling the story and modernizing the gameplay feel, the 2023 release will offer fans and newcomers alike a new gaming experience with highly immersive visuals powered by the latest graphics technology from Capcom’s proprietary RE ENGINE.
