Razer Seiren V2 X review

Razer Seiren V2 X review

In the Razer Seiren V2 X review, which is a supercardioid microphone, we take a look at the general features of this model, which is positioned at the entry level.

Continuing to develop its product range apart from player accessories, Razer does not neglect to focus on different segments in all of these products. Here I have been using the Razer Seiren V2 X model, the company’s new microphone that we can position at the entry level, for a while. In this review, I will talk about the general features of this microphone and, of course, its performance.

Razer Seiren V2 X review

The Seiren V2 X is the newest and smallest member of the company’s Seiren series. I can say in advance that this microphone, which has similar features to its brothers on paper, is quite ambitious despite its small size. This version of the original Seiren X model, which is smaller and some features have been cut, is sold abroad for a price of 100 dollars.

When we look at the design of the microphone, we see that it has a very compact structure. At the rear, it has a Type C inlet, which is designed in a way that integrates the design. In other words, when you insert the cable here, you complete that oval structure of the microphone. The headphone jack is located just above the back. Thus, you can connect your headphones here as well, for a more comfortable use.

When we come to the front, we see the gain wheel at the bottom. The absence of an indicator here was one of the things I disliked about the microphone. So unless you look at the software, you can’t exactly predict the level of the gain adjustment. Just above, there is a small volume button. You can instantly activate or mute the microphone by pressing here. Thanks to the red and green LEDs on it, it is also very easy to check the status of the microphone.

When we come to the foot part, we come across a dual apparatus operation. The stand part has a structure where you can tilt the microphone as you wish. Thus, you can use it as a light cross. It is also possible to remove the microphone from its root or connect it to a microphone stand with the short connection point in between. A nice structure has been used in this regard, but it would probably be more advantageous to use a rope stand when connecting it to a microphone arm.

A small but ingenious microphone

Razer Seiren V2 X review

A supercardioid microphone The Seiren V2 X focuses more on the front-end sound. Since it covers a narrower area in the front compared to cardioid microphones, it minimizes the side problem. In addition, apart from this front focus, it can also record sounds coming from a narrow space for rear sounds. This shows us that the microphone is actually more suitable for individual use, but that it can be used as a podcast in emergencies or when necessary.

Since the narrow angle in the front focuses on your voice, it also ignores the sounds of microphone or mouse clicks as much as possible. Of course, it does not do a perfect job, but when we consider its price, we can say that it fulfills its duty more than enough. You can get much better results when you do noise canceling with software or with effects such as denoiser in sound editing.

Razer Seiren V2 X review

The Seiren V2 X is actually designed for broadcasters or users who need a much higher quality sound for job interviews. Its small size prevents it from entering the camera frame. But you have to take into account that you will experience more loss in sound as you stand higher and further away from the microphone. As I said at the beginning, it can of course be used in emergency situations, but we have a model designed mostly for the use of one person. Its small size can also cause it to get lost behind it if you already have a pop filter.

Having a 25 mm driver, the Seiren V2 X has a plug-and-play microphone and sound quality that will not disappoint you. In other words, if you do not take a very professional recording and do not fine-tune, I can say that it offers a quality sound that can compete with microphones in the higher segment. However, the disadvantages I have listed according to these models can also come to the fore according to usage. If you are already using the Seiren X or have a similar microphone, there is no big reason to switch, but if you are looking for a new microphone, I can say that it is one of the models you should take a look at in this segment.
