We take a closer look at this renewed model in our Razer Ornata V3 review content, which has a mecha-membrane keypad and a simple design.
As with all other models, Razer offers different solutions on the keyboard side, although it is more prominent with the Blackwidow series, we can say that one of its most popular series is the Ornata series. Especially with its more affordable price and mechanical key structure, it is also preferred by many players. Here in our Razer Ornata V3 review content, we will take a closer look at the latest model of this series.
Razer Ornata V3 review
First of all, I have been using the Razer Ornata V3 for about a month. I currently prefer this model as my main keyboard. Because although many models of the company came to the test, my preference has always been for the Ornata series. First I used the first version for a long time, then I tested the V2 version (Razer Ornata V2 review) and with the release of the new model, this is the model that adorned my desk.
Of course, among the biggest reasons why I love this model, besides its simple design, comes the ergonomic keypad. Since I am someone who is against plain lines and key clutter in gaming keyboards, I was quite satisfied with the simplicity of the keyboard in general. As in the previous models, the technology called mecha-membrane was used as the keypad. This key structure has the feel of normal mechanical keyboards and is very useful with its low profile and less noise.
At this point, of course, with the new model, the key titles have also been renewed. It is especially pleasing that the UV-coated keys are more resistant to fading and scratching. As someone who used the first version for more than two years, I was quite satisfied with this. Fading problems with heavy use were minimal. I can say that it is advanced in this and offers a much longer lifespan.
Media keys have been changed in the Ornata V3 model. The first Ornata model appeared in a completely plain structure. In the Ornata V2 model, we can say that the most striking point in the design was the media wheel button. In this new model, Razer has placed the notification lights above the arrow keys and placed four different media keys on the right. Our key, which has a round icon on it, offers multiple uses. It has the feature of stopping and continuing the media file (Video, music, etc.) once you press it. You can go back to the next media when you press it twice in succession, and you can go back to the previous media when you press it three times.
To the right of it is Mute, that is, the mute button. When you press this button, that is, when you mute the system, you see that this button has a red notification. When you turn it on, it goes back to normal, a nice system has been used. As you can see, the buttons on the right have the volume down and volume up feature. Let’s also talk about the notification lights on the direction keys I mentioned. Here you see notification lights such as Caps Lock, Nume Lock, and Gaming Mode.
In addition, the Hypershift notification is located here. Hypershift mode, which you can customize as you wish with the Synapse application, allows you to use your own special keypad. In other words, you can enable only the keys you want to be active according to the profile and macro you set, and you can switch to this mode very quickly.
This time, a hard plastic structure is used in the wrist part of the keyboard. It is quite comfortable to use. On the other hand, the fact that the bracelet part was in the form of a pillow could cause peeling in long use. I can say that this is my biggest criticism in the long use of the first version. This time, the changed structure has prevented this big problem. It is also a nice detail that it sits on the keyboard due to its magnetic structure.
Ornata V3, which has a matte design as in the general structure of the series, does not keep stains such as fingerprints. The hybrid design preferred in this keyboard provides both ease of use and, as I mentioned at the beginning, reduces the key noise to a minimum. Mecha-membrane keypad, which has a hybrid structure that combines the mechanical key and the silicon membrane part, offers a great solution especially for those who do not prefer high profiles like me. Don’t get me wrong, of course it doesn’t mean that other keys are bad, it’s all a matter of preference.
Razer Ornata V3 model uses RGB system as color. The keyboard contains 16.8 million colors in 10 different regions. You can change these color profiles and customizations from the Razer Synapse app. Thanks to its Chroma structure, it works in harmony with your other equipment and you can adjust it differently according to your games or usage situation.
As a result, as I mentioned at the beginning, everyone has a favorite keypad and keyboard selection. This is the main reason why the products differ so much. Just as Blackwidow has top-notch features in its own way, my favorite product has always been the ornata series on the keyboard side. If there is a possible wireless version of this model, it will probably reach its peak for me on the keyboard side. Until then, I can say that I will enjoy using the Razer Ornata V3 with its low-profile keys, simple structure and Mecha-membrane keys.
