In our Razer Leviathan V2 review, called Gaming Soundbar, we take a look at the usage experience of this sound system.
Razer has released the new version of its soundbar model, which was first released in 2015, seven years later. We have had the opportunity to use this product for a long time. Come now Razer Leviathan V2 review Let’s look at the features of the product, but more importantly, the user experience in our content.
Razer Leviathan V2 review
The Razer Leviathan V2 is a Soundbar model that comes with a subwoofer. Soundbar 1.3, Subwoofer part has a weight of 3 kg. As soon as you take it out of the box, it manages to impress you with its material quality. Razer has continued with a nice box content and the quality material structure that we are used to in this model.
First of all, when we look at the soundbar design, we see that simple and elegant lines are used in a compact design. Razer and THX logos are featured on the front. The simple design is colored with the RGB strip at the bottom. Especially when the light hits your table here, a very nice view emerges. You can easily customize it from Synapse or the mobile application. From here you can adjust its brightness or choose four different effects.
On the application side, it is possible to make sound adjustments apart from the light games of course. The sound setting comes with five different selections as THX, Game, Movie, Music and Custom. Of course, you are also allowed to customize and adjust each title as you wish. It is also possible to set Stereo and THX Spatial Audio from this application. When it’s stereo, it actually distributes the sound from the back to the left and right. In the Spectral Audio part, a little more depth has been added to the event. You come across a structure that spreads the sound around by putting you in the center.
On the mobile side, you can access the light and sound settings of the device with the Razer Audio application. Here it is possible to change the sound settings and color animations, just like in the Synapse application. Of course, Razer’s different application selection in different products continues on the mobile side. In other words, it is possible to use the Audio application for audio applications and make all the adjustments, but at the same time, if you have Key Light or a different accessory, you may need to use a different application. The audio application is generally simple and successful. So the adjustments that need to be made are included here.
When we look at the top, five different keys welcome us here. We see the source selection, Bluetooth, on-off and of course the volume up and down keys, respectively. The device has Bluetooth 5.2 support and provides a very fast transition from mobile to connection. Since the device already has its own adapter, it is always on. So let’s say you connected quickly on the phone and you are listening to music. Then, when you decide to go to the PC, you immediately press the Bluetooth button and you can instantly connect to the PC. A quick and practical solution has been offered in this regard.
When we look at the back, small basses placed at two different ends attract our attention. The cable part is designed slightly recessed. Here, there is a power input, a Type C port for the PC connection, and an input for the Subwoofer connection. This part is designed with a latch. That’s why you have to be careful while disassembling it. It is a pity that there is no jack input and an optical connection option on the device. So it would be better if it was, at least we could make the headphone switch more practical. Or we could use the optical connection option if your motherboard and headphones support it. On the other hand, the lack of Wi-Fi support also dropped the device in TV usage.
When we look at the bottom, they have signed a process that I like very much here. The device comes with a standard foot, but you can remove this foot part very easily. A different leg is also included in the box content to make it look more curved.
In the general design, it is possible to use the Soundbar with these feet wherever you want. But for general use, of course, it is designed to fit under the monitor. When you embed the content correctly, the control keys are exactly at the level of the monitor and you can reach them very easily. When I took it out of the box, I couldn’t put it under the monitor, but once I checked, the feet come off. When you remove the foot part, a design that will fit perfectly under the monitor has been signed.
The subwoofer, which is in the shape of a cube, also has a simple design. The top has a slightly faded Razer logo. The bass part is positioned at the bottom. Thus, a more effective sound performance is achieved because it is close to the surface.
The device includes two 95mm full-range drivers, 20mm tweeter drivers, passive radiator and of course Subwoofer driver. With all these drivers, I liked the sound quality in general and a balanced sound was achieved. Bass is good, Subwoofer does its job. You know, when you turn it off, you notice the difference in sound tremendously. It is also quite ambitious in terms of sound level. I can say that even when you bring it to 30-35 levels, it makes the house groan. It is a little difficult to fill the sound in the apartment, even a nice house party can be thrown with it.
On the gaming side, it gives a good performance especially in FPS games. The sound dynamics are pretty good. You feel that difference in games with a solid ambiance. Of course, it is possible to use it in competitive games, but we are so used to using headphones on that side that I couldn’t focus while playing the sound. You need to go through some getting used to.
As a result, the Razer Leviathan V2 model has satisfactory sound quality and a stylish design. So when you put it on your table, it gives a really premium feeling. The shortcomings on the connection side are a bit annoying, especially for those who need it in terms of different uses. Razer also released the V2X model, which is a slightly more affordable version of this product. If you are looking for a Soundbar model, it would be useful to take a look. By the way, Bilkom brings Razer products in our country, and it is an important advantage to have warranty assurance.
