Raul Perez new technical director of Spanish XV rugby

The Spanish Rugby Federation continues to strengthen itself to gain a foothold in the elite of world rugby and, after sealing its ticket for the next World Cup in France 2023, the last step has been the incorporation of former Argentine player Raúl Pérez ‘Aspirina’ as the new Technical Director of XV.

Pérez, 57 years old and who became an international with Los Pumas 21 times, arrives after extensive experience on the bench 21 years ago, when he began training at the Duendes Rugby Club, where he developed his entire playing career.

‘Aspirina’ Pérez has also played a key role in the development of Argentine rugby, since since 2013 he was the assistant coach of Los Pumas alongside Daniel Hourcade and he was also the head coach of the Jaguares, the Argentine team in Super Rugby. Since 2020 he was the head coach of the Olimpia Lions of Paraguay, a team from the American Super League.
