RATP strike disruptions to be expected on Saturday February 11

STRIKE RATP. Saturday February 11, 2023 will be a new day of mobilization against the pension reform, joined by the RATP inter-union. In Paris, metros, RER, buses and trams are at risk of disruption. What we know about traffic forecasts.

[Mis à jour le 8 février 2023 à 18h39] The inter-union of representative organizations at the RATP called again for a strike on Saturday February 11 against the pension reform, joining the call of the French inter-union launched last week. RATP employees are indeed directly concerned by this reform desired by the government, which clearly threatens the special pension scheme of some 40,000 RATP employees, or 93% of the workforce.

For the time being, little information concerning mobilization among RER, metro, bus or tram drivers has reached us. But it must be remembered that this Tuesday, February 7, traffic was very disrupted on the RER and metro networks, which could be the case this Saturday. In addition, the Parisian demonstration which leaves at 1 p.m. from Place de la République risks causing disruption to buses and trams. Generally, disturbances are only known 48 hours before the RATP strike day. More details should therefore be communicated Thursday evening, or even Friday.

Note that the choice of Saturday, by the French inter-union is, moreover, not insignificant. The idea is to allow people, who also oppose the pension reform, but cannot financially strike on weekdays, to also mobilize. A bet of the unions which should particularly hold the attention of the government.
