The ice hockey NHL round started already on Saturday with the matches between Philadelphia and Minnesota and Buffalo and Detroit.

Philadelphia started the season with a win over Vancouver, but since then the club has lost six straight games.

But the streak ended against Minnesota, thank you Rasmus Ristolainen. The Finn registered 1+1 performances in the match and was responsible for the winning goal.

An incomprehensible phase from the Flyers after the initial goals

Flyers started the match with a bang when Ristolainen delivered the puck to the goal and Sean Couturier shoveled the team into the lead after a minute of play. The assist point was the Finn’s first of the season.

Nick Seeler added to the Flyers’ lead just a couple of minutes after the hit.

Then an incomprehensible phase followed in the game for Philadelphia. The Flyers didn’t get a shot at Minnesota’s goal until five minutes into the second period.

Minnesota got even in the second period by Brock Faber and Marcus Folignon with goals. Then the Flyers got the sixth time on the puck by Filip Gustavsson paint. The puck also went into the net and the rookie player Matvei Michkov got to celebrate his fourth hit of the season.

Wild’s Joel Eriksson Ek however, tied the game before the end of the second period.

The scoring continued in the third period. First, Wild’s Foligno scored his second hit of the evening, but the Flyers tied the game with superiority Travis Konecny on goal – on the Flyers’ tenth shot on goal of the match.

Then, compared to the previous events of the match, a downright exceptional episode followed, when the Flyers got the puck one after the other towards Gustavsson. The reward followed midway through the set, when Couturier smashed the return puck into the net.

The goal cheering by no means ended there, because there were six minutes before the decision Jake Middleton turn to level the game.

In the end, Ristolainen was needed as the solution. The puck was played into the goal and the Finn lobbed the ball in from the middle of the crowd. At the end of the game, Couturier completed his hat trick after shooting the puck into the empty net. Thus, the final score was recorded as 7–5.

The specialness of the end of the third period was illustrated by the fact that in the end the Flyers shot 23 times towards the goal in the match. More than half of the shots were recorded in the last 15 minutes of the match.

Luukkonen denied the win

Buffalo’s Finnish guard Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen made 22 saves as the Sabers beat the Detroit Red Wings 5–3. Buffalo quarterback Henri Jokiharju did not receive power points. of Detroit Olli Määtä was not in the lineup due to an upper body injury.

Buffalo is now on a three-game winning streak. At the same time, the Sabers ended Detroit’s three-game winning streak.
