The 40-year-old Stram Kurs frontman is a controversial figure not only in his home country but also in other Nordic countries. Paludan has made the same gesture that offends Muslims in Sweden in the past. According to Dagens Nyheter (moving to another service)Paludan had the same plan in France a couple of years ago, but the act was not implemented.
The Danish lawyer’s interest in Sweden is partly explained by the fact that he also has Swedish nationality.
More moderate immigration critics are reluctant
Paludan was previously a member of the Paludan Nye Borgerlige party. However, the party pushing for a tightening of immigration policy took a distance openly from an anti-Islamic lawyer. He founded his own party in 2017. The party received about 63,000 votes and 1.8 percent of the vote in the 2019 parliamentary elections.
“Denmark for the Danes”
Paluda has often chosen a Muslim-majority residential area as the place to ignite the Qur’an. Danish According to the Øresund Institute (moving to another service) the party’s political goal is to strengthen the state of native Danes, with the exception of educated and “valuable” immigrants. The party is also pushing for secession from the EU.
In Denmark, Rasmus Paluda is one of the most prominent figures in right-wing populist groups. He keeps in touch with his supporters on Facebook and his own YouTube channel, among others.
