A Finnish forward in ice hockey’s NHL Rasmus Kupari scored his opening goal of the season on Sunday, when the Los Angeles Kings beat the Florida Panthers 5-4.

In a goal-scoring situation, Kupari kept his cool on the blue line, while his teammates Carl Grundstrom and Kevin Fiala were fighting for the puck near the Florida goal.

Kupari already advanced to the goal when Fiala won the puck. The Swiss skill Fiala passed the puck accurately to Kupari’s shoulder and it was easy for the Finn to complete Los Angeles’ stylish 1-1 equalizer.

At the beginning of the third period, the Florida striker Eetu Luostarinen completed the 3–3 tie. Florida’s Finnish captain To Aleksander Barkov recorded one assist.

The match progressed to the end with even marks, but in the end the Kings were stronger.

Hat trick to Jamie Benn

Finnish players collected assists in the battle between Edmonton Oilers and Dallas Stars. The match ended with Dallas winning 6–2.

Dallas, who played as a visiting team, scored four of the six goals scored by Finnish assists. In scoring situations, the striker passed Roope Hintz and defenders Jani Hakanpää and Miro Heiskanen. Hintz and Heiskanen both collected two assist points and Hakanpää one.

Three of Dallas’ goals were scored by a Canadian forward Jamie Benn.

Hakanpää managed to shoot Four times towards Edmonton’s goal, but the puck didn’t sink into the goal. Hintz also shot the home team goal twice without hitting.

For Edmonton’s Finnish striker Jesse to Puljujärvi recorded an assist for the team’s second goal.

The Nashville Predators beat the Vancouver Canucks after a shootout to end the game at 3-3. Nashville’s Finnish goalkeeper Juuse Saros was a sweaty evening as he stopped as many as 42 shots. Nashville Striker Mikael Granlund was left without power points.
