Rasmus Dahlin’s fine streak in the NHL – points for the fifth game in a row last night

Swedish star defender Rasmus Dahlin scored for the fifth game in a row.
But Buffalo continues to struggle.
Against Montreal, it was the fourth loss in six games, 1–3.

It has been slow in the start of the NHL ice hockey season too Rasmus Dahlin and his Buffalo. The 23-year-old Swede has produced at least one point in the last five games, but that has done little to help the team, which has lost four of six games.

“Frustrating”

Despite an advantage in the shooting statistics in the first two periods against Montreal, and 1-1 a bit into the third period – Dahlin played Jeff Skinner to Buffalo’s equalizer – the home team had to leave the game without a point.

Brendan Gallagher pushed in 2–1 to Montreal after 3.31 of the final period and Tanner Pearson punctuated the game with a nifty power play goal with just over three minutes left to play.

Montreal goalkeeper Jake Allen had a big part in the away win with his 36 saves.
– It’s frustrating, says the Buffalo forward Take Thompson to nhl.com.
– It’s just a matter of continuing to do the right things in every shift. Today I think we did it and of course that makes it hurt even more (that we lost). But we’re not going to change anything, we’re just going to keep playing like this.

Billion contract

Rasmus Dahlin, who before the season signed an eight-year contract with Buffalo worth close to one billion Swedish kronor from 2024 onwards, has scraped together six points so far. He has to justify the payment, in the game against Montreal he had by far the most ice time of the Buffalo players

Last season, he came fifth in points scored among the league’s defenders. He is in the top tier now too, but a lot can happen. Over 75 games remain in the series.
