Rapper cancels concert in protest

“Children, women and men who have been deported from Tunisia to Libya are living in inhumane conditions,” Gims writes on Instagram.

Tunisia has become a hub for migrants trying to reach Europe. Earlier this summer, the EU and Tunisia entered into an agreement to stop migrants from crossing the Mediterranean.

However, according to the human rights organization Human Rights Watch, the agreement has led to security forces in the country forcibly moving migrants to desert areas next to the borders of Algeria and Libya, where they have been left without food and water. The UN has called for urgent measures to save the refugees stuck in the desert.
