The week promises to be eventful. Rain, storms and gusts of wind are on the agenda for the first days of autumn, especially in part of France.
The weather is far from ideal for this last week of September. The agitation present in the sky these last few days does not weaken while in terms of temperature, the entry into autumn is making itself felt. In addition to the showers already present last week, this time the wind is added. It is expected to be particularly strong in several departments and will accentuate the feeling of freshness, especially in the morning.
Nothing new for Tuesday, the disturbance is still very present and is moving towards the East of the Île-de-France region as far as the Ardennes and Champagne. The same goes for the sky since the country remains under a thick grey veil from the northern tip to the south of Auvergne.
The only improvements are that the storms that were particularly present this Monday in the three northern quadrants of the country have disappeared, even if a few can still be heard in the north of Gironde, in the centre and east of the country.
The sky is clearing up in the southernmost departments, where the sun is once again expected. It is in these departments that temperatures will exceed 20°C. For the rest of the country, The Weather Channel forecasts between 10 and 15°C in the morning and barely 17 to 19°C for the rest of the day. Same story for the following day. The weather remains particularly gloomy and the wind begins to pick up, sparing only the Mediterranean basin.
From Wednesday, we must remain particularly attentive to the accumulation of rain, in several departments very significant precipitations are expected. It is in the afternoon that these showers will begin to appear, from Brittany to the Grand Est and from Hauts-de-France to Nouvelle-Aquitaine. Temperatures remain equivalent, between 13 and 16° in the morning and up to 23°C in the south for the afternoon.
Thursday is expected to be a particularly rainy day. Showers are expected throughout the day across the country while thunderstorms are arriving from the British Isles and are positioned over a good half of the west, from La Rochelle to Troyes via Lille, Paris and Rennes. If the thermometer shows temperatures close to those of the last few days, gusts of wind of up to 90 or even 100 kilometres per hour are expected over the northern 3/4 and give a lower feeling.
So it is from the end of the week that the weather will be cooler. Nationally, average temperatures will plummet by almost 7°C in the space of 48 hours, in particular due to the wind that does not weaken. Friday morning, temperatures are close to 10°C except in the south where the 18°C mark in the morning is still reached in Perpignan, Nice and Ajaccio. In the afternoon, however, the northern half peaks under 15°C, while around the Mediterranean basin, we can still expect 20 to 24°C. The sky is still marked by stormy showers.
