A man in his 20s is sentenced to prison for raping a sleeping woman, Sydsvenskan reports.
The rape took place in the man’s home outside Lund, in October. The woman fell asleep with her clothes on, but woke up in pain. She then lay on the bed without clothes.
The man allegedly began the abuse while the woman was sleeping, and continued after she woke up. The evidence includes a mobile phone video that he took, where the woman is seen lying naked while he touches her.
The man has admitted sexual assault and offensive photography but denies rape. However, the District Court considers that there is no doubt that the man was aware that the woman did not participate voluntarily. He is sentenced to three years and six months in prison, and must also pay SEK 265,000 in damages to the woman.
