A young woman has been the victim of an attempted rape in central Strömstad during the night.
A police manhunt has been ongoing during the night.
– We have secured certain leads, says police spokesperson Jens Andersson.
A young woman alerted the police just before midnight that she had been the victim of an attempted rape.
According to the police, a man allegedly held her down and tried to take off her clothes.
The man also reportedly grabbed a piece of jewelry before leaving the scene on foot.
– The police had a dog patrol with them and have searched for the perpetrator but have not found him, says police spokesperson Jens Andersson.
The crime scene was cordoned off and a technical investigation has been carried out.
– We have been able to secure certain tracks, but I cannot say exactly what they are, says Jens Andersson.
The incident is being investigated as attempted aggravated rape and aggravated robbery.
