In the ice hockey NHL, Mikko Rantanen broke his single-season goal record when he scored his team’s winning goal against the Winnipeg Jets. Rantanen’s hit was the Finnish striker’s 37th of the season.

From Finns to Colorado Mikko Rantanen and Montreal Jesse Ylönen were swinging goal nets in the NHL round of the night. Rantanen scored his team’s 2–1 winning goal in an away match against the Winnipeg Jets. Ylönen scored his first of the season when he guided the puck into the goal from above.

In the match between Winnipeg and Colorado that ended 1-5 Artturi Lehkonen scored Colorado’s opening goal and recorded his 100th NHL assist at the same time.

Rantanen, who continued his top form, also assisted his team’s 3–1 goal. Rantanen broke his single-season goal record in the match, as he has scored 37+31 in 56 matches. Rantanen’s previous record of 36 goals was from last season.

The Montreal Canadiens beat the Philadelphia Flyers 5–2 away from home. In addition to his first goal of the season, Finnish forward Jesse Ylönen also recorded an assist By David Savard to score a 1–0 goal in the opening set.

Ylönen is playing his second full season in North America. At the beginning of the current season, Ylönen played in the AHL for Laval Rocket.
