During the autumn, the police mapped a network that engaged in extensive drug trafficking in Umeå. Now four people are sentenced to prison, Umeå District Court announces.
A 26-year-old who has been identified as the leader of the network is sentenced to 6 years in prison for several cases of serious drug crime, drug crime and violation of the weapons law.
Three men between the ages of 19 and 33 are sentenced to prison for between 2 years and 4 months and 3 years and 10 months. Furthermore, a 17-year-old is sentenced to youth care and a 31-year-old to probation.
The evidence against the men consists, among other things, of secret phone tapping, conversations on the encrypted chat service Wickr and seizures of various types of narcotics.
An intelligence operation against several of the men was launched in the late summer of 2022 after information that they handled large quantities of narcotics.
During the autumn, reconnaissance, house searches and raids took place on hideouts, homes and ongoing drug deals. In March, charges were brought for various types of drug crimes and weapons crimes “in an organized form”.
According to the prosecutor, the network was led by the 26-year-old. The others are said to have had subordinate roles and were responsible for the handling of amphetamines, cannabis and cocaine.
