The “Ramses and the Gold of the Pharaohs” exhibition is one of the cultural events of this Parisian spring. Installed in the Grande Halle de la Villette until September 6, it allows you to discover 180 pieces that testify to the prestige and grandeur of the reign of this pharaoh builder with exceptional longevity.
It was the pharaoh who had the longest life (up to 92 years), the longest reign (67 years) and undoubtedly one of the greatest descendants (a good hundred children). For some 3,000 years, his prestige as a warrior, builder and diplomat has been intact. Evidenced by the popularity of his name, Ramses II, and the enthusiasm aroused by the exhibition which opened in Paris.
The exhibition presents 180 pieces that bear witness to the magnificence of ancient Egypt: gold and silver jewelry, pottery, amulets, stone carvings, paintings on limestone, coffins too, including the sarcophagus of Ramses He himself. Without the mummy, of course, but having the chance and the honor to see it in Paris is no less exceptional and impressive.
The exhibition ” Ramses and the gold of the pharaohs is on display until September 6 in Paris, at the Grande Halle de la Villette. Egyptologists Benedicte Lhoyer And Dominique Farout are its commissioners. They are both guests of VMDN.
