The ascent of the Alpe d’Huez starts in Le Bourg-d’Oisans in the winter sports area of ​​the French Alps. The route is almost 14 kilometers long and has 21 numbered hairpin bends. In total, the participants bridge 1061 vertical meters under the motto ‘Giving up is not an option’.

KWF Kankerbestrijding manages the proceeds of Alpe d’HuZes. This year’s are devoted to, among other things, the themes of ambition and new developments, such as stimulating young researchers and giving financial ‘push’.

Over the past fifteen years, more than EUR 183.6 million has been raised. In 2019 the final score was almost 12 million euros. Today’s proceeds will be announced around 8 p.m.
