Rain forecast gives hope in Canada
Cooler weather and precipitation bring hope to the thousands of firefighters in Canada who are battling wildfires in the province of Alberta.
— We would like to see a nice, steady rain for a few days. That would help us significantly – something that sinks into the undergrowth,” Christie Tucker, director of information for the provincial fire unit, told CBC.
This weekend, the temperature is ten degrees warmer than the seasonal norm. Last year, 459 hectares burned. This year, the area is 842,000 hectares.
