A deep low pressure will move in just in time for the weekend.
The windy weather in the mountains calms down somewhat and from Sunday it can be windy in the south as well, says Therese Fougman, meteorologist on duty at SMHI.
On the night of Monday, the wind will die down and the clouds will disperse, making it clear, at least temporarily.
In connection with that, the temperature can drop to zero in Svealand, says Therese Fougman.
As for the weather on New Year’s Eve itself, it looks like it will be mild in the south but cold in the north.
A precipitation area passes over Götaland and Svealand on the night of Tuesday. It probably stops over Svealand where it may rain during the day, while the area north of Mälardalen gets snow or sleet, says Therese Fougman.
