Israel has carried out several new raids against targets in Beirut around midnight on the night of Sunday. And the Iran-backed Hezbollah militia is firing rockets at Israel, according to the Israeli military (IDF).
At least five hits were recorded on targets in southern Beirut, according to Lebanese media reports, and AFP staff heard several heavy explosions.
Before the attacks, the IDF called on residents in three areas to evacuate ahead of the attacks on designated buildings.
