RaidForums was considered one of the largest hacking forums in the world, with a community of over 500,000 users since 2015.

The platform made a name for itself in the international arena with cyber attacks against many US companies operating in different fields.

Hackers, who accessed database information of US companies operating in different fields, seized millions of credit cards, bank account numbers and usernames and passwords required to access online accounts.

Europol European Cybercrime Center launched an operation called “Torniquet” against the hacker platform in 5 different countries, after nearly a year of preparation.

The operation, led by the Joint Cybercrime Action Task Force (J – CAT) within Europol, was carried out jointly with the security forces of the USA, UK, Sweden, Portugal and Romania.

As part of the operation, administrators, money launderers, users and buyers responsible for data theft and uploading were followed up on the hacker platform.

As a result of the joint operation, “RaidForums” was destroyed and its infrastructure in these countries was seized.

The hacker platform manager and 2 accomplices were also detained by the security forces.

Edvardas Šileris, Head of Europol’s European Center for Cybercrime, said that they will continue to work with their international partners to prevent the commission of cybercrime.
