Raid “Edge of Salvation” starts tomorrow – Everything you need to know about the launch

Bungie doesn’t give its Guardians a minute to catch their breath. A new DLC, “The Final Shape,” has been released in Destiny 2, and with it comes the new raid “Edge of Salvation” on Friday. You can find out exactly when it starts and what you should know about it here.

When does the raid in The Final Shape start? Mark Friday, June 7th in your calendar. There is no time yet, but previous contest modes always started on the daily reset. So we estimate 7 p.m. as the start time.

  • On June 7th, the raid “Edge of Salvation” starts for all players, but first in Contest Mode.
  • The competition mode will run until Sunday, June 9th at 7:00 p.m.
  • You have 48 hours to complete this difficult challenge in competitive mode.
  • The Edge of Salvation raid’s competitive mode will have a power cap of 1,965 for all encounters, Bungie said.
  • After Competitive Mode ends, all Guardians can fly into the raid normally and experience the new content without the extra difficulties of Competitive Mode.
  • In the following part, we will show you what you should know about the contest mode and where the location might be.

Will there be a day one run? Yes, there will also be a day-one run for the Edge of Salvation raid and it will be held in the form of contest mode.

What is competition mode? Contest mode is a mode that Bungie only activates at the start of each new raid. Players are massively downgraded from their light level, unfair and broken Exos are deactivated and enemies hit you with deadlier and much more accurate shots.

Bosses also become real sponges that can easily absorb massive damage. Essentially, it’s a nightmarish version of the raid in question, where Guardians will be left to grind their teeth for hours.

After Contest Mode, the first players to successfully survive and complete the raid will be rewarded with a prestigious championship belt and emblem – that’s how it’s always been. Unfortunately, Bungie hasn’t revealed the emblem or the belt to be won.

Anyone else who was slower but still managed to complete the raid within the time frame of the competitive mode will receive an exclusive raid emblem that can also only be earned within the first 48 hours.

Bungie itself recommends completing the “The Final Form” campaign and the “Wildcard” exotic quest in order to experience the story in the best possible way.

What should I put attention on? It’s important to note that the Warlock’s Well has been nerfed to the ground. Your long-time supporter is now off the table and you’ll have to find alternatives.

Titans, with their war banner or void focus and their bubble, have a good chance of taking the Warlock’s place. Be prepared for this and also secure one or two new exotics from “The Final Shape”.

Where will the raid take place? Officially, it has not yet been revealed where the raid will be located, but some leaks have found their way to fans. According to X-user JpDeathBlade (via x.com), the raid will be located near the Monolith where the Witness is located.

Players should get ready and destroy the last threat to humanity. It is not yet known whether the Witness will actually be fought in the raid. If further information about the new raid is revealed, our article will be updated.
