The raid day with Proto-Kyogre starts today in Pokémon GO. We have summarized for you what is important and how you can make the most of the event.
When does the raid day start? The raid day with Proto-Kyogre runs today, March 17th, 2024. As usual on raid days, the event will start at 2:00 p.m. and end at 5:00 p.m.
What kind of event is this? During a raid day, you have the opportunity to challenge the Pokémon in focus in numerous arenas throughout the event. This means that during this period you have the opportunity to encounter and defeat many Proto-Kyogre in arenas.
For defeating Proto-Kyogre you will receive the opportunity to collect Proto-Energy. Depending on how quickly the Pokémon was defeated, all participants in the raid will receive more or less Proto Energy.
How does Raid Day work with Proto-Kyogre?
Here’s how to get Proto-Kyogre: If you have collected enough energy, you can trigger Kyogre’s protomorphosis and thereby receive Proto-Kyogre. The protomorphosis behaves like a mega-evolution. If you successfully defeat a Proto-Kyogre, you will face a regular Kyogre at the end of the raid.
How much energy do I need for protomorphosis? To trigger the first Protomorphosis you need 400 Proto-Energy.
What bonuses are there in the event? During the raid day, the following bonuses will be active in the game:
What is the best way to proceed on raid day? Due to the increased number of raid passes, the following process is recommended to use the raid day effectively:
What is the fastest way to defeat Proto-Kyogre? Proto-Kyogre is Water-type. This makes Electric and Grass-type attackers very effective against this Pokémon. If you’re still looking for good attackers for the fight, take a look at our Proto-Kyogre counter guide.
If you are there with your friends to complete the raids, you should also use the team play function. This can give you an additional attack advantage.
Is Proto-Kyogre worth it? Proto-Kyogre is the absolute top water-type attacker for raids and arenas. So it’s very worthwhile for you if you fight regularly. The optimal attack combination here is Cascade as a quick attack and Origin Wave as a charging attack. However, Origin Surge requires you to use a Top Loaded TM to obtain it.
What’s in the optional ticket? You can also purchase an optional ticket for the raid day in the shop. This costs $5 (so it will probably cost €5) and offers you the following benefits:
What do you think about the raid day? Will you take part and secure the rare Proto-Energy for Kyogre? Or have you already had enough and are you on the hunt for a Shiny Kyogre?
