Almaty is Kazakhstan’s largest city and is located in the southeastern part of the country. Many Russians have fled here after Russia began to mobilize.
29-year-old Radi is one of them, and now lives with Dina Lyubtjenko in the hostel she owns. Dina Lyubtchenko intends to open a second hostel soon as well, after Russian citizens continue to flee to Kazakhstan.
– I tell everyone that they did the right thing by coming here. We only have one life, and then we have to survive, says Dina Ljubjenko to SVT’s foreign correspondent Carl Fridh Kleberg.
