Police later released a statement that an unidentified person stabbed a 24-year-old man in the chest, saying anti-Turkey remarks.
“I HATE TURKS”
While the identity of the person who was attacked and taken to the hospital was not disclosed, according to the news on the Daily News website, police sources said that before carrying out the action, the suspect asked the 24-year-old if he was Turkish and then said “I hate Turks” and carried out the attack.
In a video published in the local media, it was stated that the person who was attacked was stabbed because he was Turkish.
MONEY PRIZE WILL BE GIVEN
Announcing that individuals who will provide information about the suspect will be rewarded up to $3,500, the NYPD has launched a hate crime investigation into the attack.
