Meghan Markle has already been harsh with the British royal family denouncing the Crown’s racism and contempt for her. Accusations and facts on which the American actress returns in the documentary “Harry & Meghan” this Thursday, December 8.

In the first three episodes of the mini-series, broadcast this Thursday, December 8, 2022 on the Netflix platform, the princely couple mainly returned to their beginnings marked by a hidden relationship then complicated by harassment from the paparazzi and the press, but Harry and Meghan also reiterated some criticism of the Crown. Nothing, however, that worries Buckingham Palace where the royal family was on deck to react to the slightest prank of the youngest son of King Charles III and his wife. “If anything needs to be answered, you can be sure the response will be quick and firm,” a royal source assured the newspaper. Installed in a sofa facing the camera, Harry and Meghan returned during their interview to the distance established between the Hollywood actress and the royal family and to possible racism on the part of some members of the Crown. Nothing new, therefore, since these accusations had already been made and caused a tsunami in February 2021, during the interview granted to Oprah Winfrey. The royal palace then reacted and denied the statements of the Sussex couple as a whole. The rigor and coldness of certain members of the monarchy, in particular the Prince and Princess of Wales, William and Kate Middleton, even if the latter are not directly named, have also been singled out. A few hours after the broadcast of the first part of the documentary, the royal family did not comment on the content of the show.
Meghan Markle’s malaise within the royal family
The couple exiled in California since 2020 after the stormy episode of “Megxit” explained in 2021 that they had voluntarily distanced themselves from the royal family to “protect” themselves. An explanation given again by Prince Harry in the autobiographical documentary series. “I understand that there are people who disapprove of what I have done [quitter la famille royale] and the way I did it, but I knew I had to do everything I could to protect my family, especially after what happened to my mother. It was impossible for history to repeat itself.”
At the time, Harry and Meghan did not hesitate to denounce the “trap” of the royal system which had closed on them. The American actress had not supported this straitjacket and had felt ill at the point of thinking of suicide when she was pregnant with her son Archie. “I couldn’t see a solution anymore. Racist remarks denounced by Meghan Markle
The accusations had caused a stir in 2021 and almost two years later, the positions of the princely couple have not changed: Meghan Markle has been targeted by racist remarks. And for the mother of the ex-Duchess of Sussex, the virulent attacks of the British press are also linked to “issues of race”. Prince Harry’s wife says she has terrible memories of this period while she relates the same facts as a year earlier: “The instructions from the royal family were not to comment,” recalls Prince Harry. “But what he was to understand is that concerning my family, all that [Meghan] lived, they had lived it too, it was like a rite of passage. And I said: the difference here is racism.” The main accusation of racism centered on a remark made to Meghan Markle during her first pregnancy and “concerns” from some family members who wondered, before the birth of Archie, “how dark the skin of the newborn would be”.The son of King Charles III, however, seems to be stepping aside and clearing the royal family of deliberately racist facts or remarks.
A rivalry and favoritism between Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton?
If Harry and Meghan Markle had been very grateful to Queen Elizabeth II, the prince had testified to tensions with his father, now King Charles III. As for Meghan Markle, she returned to her supposed rivalry with Kate Middleton. A story fabricated from scratch by the press which would have been one of the turning points which led to the departure of the Sussexes for the United States. “I think that’s where everything changed,” said Meghan Markle. Returning to a story reported by the tabloids according to which she would have made Kate Middleton cry during fitting before her marriage to Prince Harry, Meghan Markle had not hesitated to restore her truth: “No, I did not crying. The reverse happened.”
If Prince William’s wife would then apologize to Meghan Markle, she confided, still during her river interview, that she did not understand why no one had corrected the facts with the press. “It wasn’t until after the wedding, when things got worse, that I realized that not only was I unprotected, but they were willing to lie to protect other family members. But not to tell the truth to protect me and my husband.”
