According to the New York Times’ report, black employees at Tesla’s California factory are subjected to racist rhetoric. The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) filed a lawsuit against the company, alleging that black employees were made to work harder than white employees.
Claiming that Tesla managers were aware of the mistreatment in question and did not do enough to eliminate this problem, the EEOC reported that a lawsuit was filed in Oakland Federal Court after a compromise could not be reached with the company.
BLACK EMPLOYEES WHO COMPLAINED WERE FIRED…
According to the commission’s allegations, black employees were fired after complaining about the inequality in question.
The EEOC alleged that Tesla violated federal law, claiming that the company “subjected black employees at its Fremont factory to racist harassment and created a hostile work environment for its employees because of their race.”
The Commission, which requested the court to compensate the employees, stated that it expected various penalties as a result of the case.
SCANDAL “SWASTIC CROSS” AND “KU KLUX KLAN (KKK)” CLAIMS!
“Irregularities and ongoing inappropriate behavior resulting from racism are evident in all shifts, departments and job positions,” the lawsuit states. The statement was included.
In the petition, it was noted that racist drawings such as “swastika” and “Ku Klux Klan (KKK)” were seen in various parts of the workplace.
Attorney Bryan Schwartz, representing the plaintiffs, said in a written statement: “Tesla’s racist harassment of its black employees is illegal and appalling. The problem must be addressed systematically.” he said.
While Tesla has previously faced accusations of racism, the California Civil Rights Department also filed a lawsuit against the company on the grounds that black workers were “underrepresented” in managerial positions.
THE COMPANY HAS BEEN JUDGED WITH SUCH A CASE BEFORE
After former Tesla employee Owen Diaz won the “racist harassment” lawsuit he filed against Tesla on April 4, the company was ordered to pay Diaz approximately $3.2 million. (AA)
