The American artist R Kelly was convicted in September on nine charges of having used his celebrity to attract women and underage girls, which he then raped.
The jury then found him guilty on all counts. On Wednesday night, the punishment is announced: The world star is sentenced to 30 years in prison.
– It is a more severe punishment than what the prosecutors have demanded, says TV4 Nyheter’s reporter Tomas Kvarnkullen, on location in New York.
R Kelly has already flagged that he will appeal the verdict.
