There are hour-long queues on the E4 just north of Härnösand after an earlier accident.
TV4’s employee Wilma Björn has ended up in the middle of the standing queue.
– We have been stuck for five hours and the forecast is constantly pushed forward, she says at around 6 p.m.
It was at lunchtime on Thursday that two trucks and three cars were involved in an accident on the E4 at the height of Oringen, just north of Härnösand.
Since then, long queues have coiled in the southbound direction.
– All the vehicles are gone now, however, there are still concerns with some electric cars that do not have electric power to drive on, says Bengt Olsson, press manager at the Swedish Transport Administration.
The snowy weather is making the salvage work more difficult and traffic is currently being diverted via road 723 between Utansjö and Överdal.
At 18:00 the thermometer showed 12 minus degrees, but according to SMHI the temperature is expected to drop to at least 15 minus degrees during the evening.
The forecast is postponed
According to TV4 employee Wilma Björn, who has been stuck in the queue for several hours, the forecast has been pushed forward throughout the day. A preliminary one is currently set for 19.30.
– It is snowing, but not very much. There is no risk right now that we will be snowed in if it continues to snow this little, says Wilma Björn.
The Swedish Transport Agency’s press manager agrees.
– Right now it doesn’t appear to be a major problem. The electric cars have had to stand there for a long time as they do not have the power to drive further. However, I don’t know how to solve it, it is difficult to have electric power on the tank, says Bengt Olsson.
